p1000955_400px As an Au Pair in Argentina au pair you will have completed the registration form and sent it back with 2 references (not from family members, preferably from a previous employer/teacher/tutor etc.) and with 2 colour photos. You will be interviewed, have to have an up to date medical certificate and CRB check (we can organise a CRB check for you please state you need one on your registration form).

 

 

Nationality:

We mainly recruit British au pairs, but we also recruit from the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, France, Germany. All our au pairs are native English, French or German speakers.

Length of stay:

A minimum of 3 months and should not exceed 12 months

Getting there:

You are responsible for arranging and paying for your transport to and from Argentina and for letting your family know your arrival and departure dates. p1000907_400px

Health Insurance:

As an au pair you must ensure that you have health insurance before leaving for Argentina.

Hours and holidays:

The family will discuss with you of the hours that you will work; normally it is 5 hours a day 25 hours a week. If you work over 25 hours a week, the family will pay you overtime. Ensure that you are awake and ready to start work at the time requested. You may also be requested to baby-sit up to 2 evenings per week.

p1000950_400px You will be given free time as agreed with the family. This will be at least 2 days per week and will be adjusted depending on the hours you and the family have agreed you will work.

For every 6 months you work you will be given a week holiday. If you are with the family for more than 6 months you will be entitled to a weeks paid holiday.

Salary:

As a full time Au Pair (25 hours a week) you will receive at least $450 Argentine pesos a week pocket money which is about £50. Along with this you will get full board and lodging. If you are live out you will receive a higher payment to put towards board and lodging. As a part time au pair you will be paid an hourly salary.

Termination of employment:

p1000956_400px The first 30 days of employment constitute a probationary period, during which you can terminate your contract, giving at least three days’ notice. After the probationary period, the contract can be terminated, giving at least two weeks notice. The termination notice must be given in writing. However, you shall continue to perform your work during this period with the same diligence as before.

Premature departure:

In case that you wish to leave prematurely, we ask that you try to give the family at least 2 weeks notice. If this is not possible please give as much notice as you can.

Visas:

It is the responsibility of the au pair to obtain visas and other work permits

On arrival we will give you our welcome pack. Included in this is:

  • A SIM card
  • A guide to Buenos Aires
  • Details on how to meet other au pairs and events and activities we organise
  • Various discounts for day trips, restaurants, bars and other activities
  • Guidance and advice on finding a language school
